Marketing Operations Manager — AI-First Marketing (North America/Canada)
About Anatta
Anatta is a Shopify Platinum Partner and enterprise commerce consultancy. For 18 years we have engineered replatforms, integrations and growth systems for brands doing $50M–$2B in revenue — work that has to ship without losing a day of sales. We are now defining a new category for how that work gets done: the Anatta Agentic Operating System, software that orchestrates AI agents and human judgment to take delivery work from scope to shipped in weeks, not quarters.
We run delivery as a system. We intend to run marketing the same way. That is this job.
The role
You own the execution of every marketing initiative at Anatta — content, search, advertising, website, automation, campaigns, events — and you run them as one connected system rather than a set of disconnected tools and one-off projects.
Most marketing teams sit somewhere between experimenting with AI and actually operating on it: a few generative tools used in isolation, no shared data layer, no closed loop between what gets published, what gets measured and what gets done next. Your mandate is to close that gap. You will design and run an intelligent marketing operating system for Anatta — where intelligence, decisioning, execution and governance are connected, where AI does the volume work, where humans own judgment and quality, and where every initiative reports back into a measurement framework tied to a pipeline.
This is a hands-on, cross-functional operating role. You will build workflows, administer the stack, launch campaigns, read the dashboards and fix what the dashboards reveal. Because our marketing team is intentionally small, leverage matters enormously. Your job is not simply to execute more work. It is to continuously redesign how the work gets done so automation and AI absorb repetitive execution while human time moves toward judgment, creativity and growth. You will also set the standard for how AI is used across the marketing function and train the people around you to use it well. You manage a Content Strategist and Creative directly and work daily with Sales, Business Development, Strategy and Engineering.
What you'll own
1. The AI content engine
- Run the content production system with your Content Strategist: AI-assisted drafting from practitioner interviews and project material, human editing, practitioner review and sign-off, publication and refresh.
- Own the editorial calendar, the master keyword sheet, the duplicate-keyword gate and the weekly cadence. Nothing ships without a practitioner having read it; you enforce that gate, not work around it.
- Maintain the prompt library, templates and quality standards so output is consistent, on-voice and institution-grade — not generic AI prose.
- Measure throughput weekly (published vs. planned, practitioner-review hours consumed) and scale the calendar off the measured rate.
2. SEO, AEO and GEO
- Execute Anatta's SEO / answer-engine / generative-engine program: hub-and-spoke architecture, programmatic pages, schema, llms.txt, entity consistency and off-site citation work.
- Own the entity layer: keep Anatta's facts identical across Google Business Profile, partner directories, review platforms and data aggregators so search engines and AI models resolve one consistent entity.
- Run the monthly AI-citation checks across the major assistants and Google AI Overviews; log whether Anatta is cited, which URL, and whether the model's answer matches our positioning.
- Track rankings, impressions and clicks by cluster, and the qualification split of organic leads by landing page.
3. Advertising and paid media
- Plan, build, QA, launch and optimize paid search and paid social campaigns against the qualified-opportunity definition, not raw lead volume.
- Manage budgets, pacing and landing-page performance; align paid keywords with the organic plan so both feed the same landing pages and the same reporting.
4. Website performance and improvement
- Own the website as a product: conversion paths, forms and lead routing, page speed and Core Web Vitals, crawlability for search and AI crawlers, analytics and consent.
- Prioritise and ship a continuous improvement backlog with Engineering and Creative; measure every change.
5. Marketing automation, data and lead management
- Build, optimise and maintain automation workflows for lead generation, nurture, lifecycle progression, segmentation, scoring, routing and campaign execution.
- Ensure data integrity across the contact database, using AI for enrichment, normalisation, deduplication and segmentation.
- Maintain attribution models and the marketing ROI dashboard; deliver the weekly web and pipeline report.
- Support revenue goals with lead scoring, sales alerts and signal exports to the sales team; define, with Sales, how AI-assisted and human outbound work together, and monitor the performance and data integrity of AI-assisted prospecting motions.
6. Integrated campaigns and events
- Own operational execution of integrated campaigns end to end — planning, build, QA, launch, optimisation, reporting — across email, webinars, paid media, ABM programs, nurture, outbound initiatives and events.
- Plan and coordinate Anatta's event presence: partner events, industry conferences, hosted sessions and webinars — logistics, budget, pre/post campaigns and pipeline follow-through.
- Set goals and benchmarks for every program before launch; report against them after.
7. Martech and AI stack administration
- Administer the marketing technology stack — CRM, marketing automation, analytics, SEO and AI tooling — and its integration with sales and business systems.
- Evaluate, pilot and deploy generative AI tools for content creation, data analysis, campaign personalisation and reporting, including prompt development and use-case experimentation.
- Collaborate with Sales, Business Development and Engineering leaders on the marketing technology roadmap; project-manage AI initiatives from stakeholder alignment through delivery.
8. Budget, timelines and governance
- Manage the marketing budget and timelines with Finance; keep programs on budget and on deadline.
- Establish AI governance for the marketing function: what AI may and may not produce unreviewed, data-handling rules, brand and voice standards, and compliance with data-protection law.
- Train marketing and adjacent teams on prompting, AI best practices and governance; champion adoption and build technical fluency across the company.
What success looks like in the first 90 days
- The content system is running at a measured weekly cadence with the practitioner gate intact, and the first wave of the SEO/AEO/GEO plan is published.
- Anatta's entity data is corrected and consistent across every third-party source that search engines and AI models pull from.
- The marketing ROI dashboard and weekly report are live, with attribution from first touch through qualified opportunity.
- Paid and organic feed the same landing pages, with lead routing that qualifies cleanly against the revenue floor.
- The martech and AI stack is documented, administered and integrated with the CRM; the team is trained on it.
- Event calendar for the next two quarters is planned, budgeted and instrumented.
Required qualifications
- 5–7 years in marketing operations, technical program management, demand generation or digital marketing, with at least five in a marketing-operations or equivalent role.

- Proven experience administering large marketing automation platforms and CRM systems and integrating them with other business systems.
- Working knowledge of SEO, and of how answer engines and AI assistants source and cite content.
- Experience managing paid media budgets and campaigns.
- Strong analytical skills: database structures, data hygiene, analytics and attribution; ability to draw insight from marketing data and act on it.
- Understanding of lead scoring, nurturing, segmentation, personalisation and lifecycle management.
- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects with technical and strategic components to tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and spoken communication; able to translate technical concepts for non-technical colleagues.

Skills and competencies
- Systems thinking: sees marketing as connected workflows, not a list of tasks.
- Exceptional judgment; comfortable deciding what AI may produce unreviewed and what it may not.
- Innovative thinker with a real interest in generative AI and digital transformation — and the discipline to ship rather than only explore.
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment with shifting priorities, without losing attention to detail.
- Builds and maintains collaborative working relationships across functions; effective leadership while remaining a team player.
- Strong presentation skills and initiative; defines goals and follows through to results.
- Professional presence and a high degree of trustworthiness with confidential, financial and client information.
- Prioritises and manages time effectively; handles competing priorities with composure.
How we work
Anatta is direct, informal and decisive. We favour synthesis over process for its own sake. We say what we think, we push back when we disagree, and we expect the same from you. We publish real numbers from real work and hold ourselves to them. If you want to run marketing as a system — and be measured on whether the system works — this is the role.
This is a small, highly leveraged marketing team. There is no separate marketing operations department, paid media team, SEO team or campaign operations function to hand work to. You will own the system and, when necessary, operate it yourself. The expectation is not that you manually do everything forever. The expectation is that you can do the work, automate what should be automated, build repeatable systems and progressively increase the leverage of the people around you.
